The number represents a cubic inch. There are 231 cubic inches in a gallon. If the pump is minus 6 through 18, the station is notified. If the pump is minus 18 or more, the pump is shut down.

    Tips for Gift Card Purchases
    1) Understand that even if the card has a Visa or MasterCard logo, it is not a credit card because it does not carry the same protections. If your card is lost or stolen, you will need to know the number on the card and report it to the retailer to get any protection.
    2) Ask about all terms and conditions, including expiration dates and any charges and fees that may apply. Ask for the information in writing, and be sure to inform the recipient of all special terms.
    3) Check on whether a “dormancy” fee applies. This fee can be automatically deducted from the balance of the card for each month the card is not used after a certain period of time.
    4) Find out where the gift card is accepted. If it is a store card, ask if it can be used at an affiliated store or at a store in another state.
    5) Ask what happens to any balance left on the card and how long you have to use it.

  • If you would like more information about gift cards, call the Nebraska Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division at (800) 727-6432 or visit online.
