OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Charles Schwab Field will feature a new videoboard and technology upgrades for this year’s College World Series.

The stadium has added a second videoboard on the left side of the field, addressing a gap that fans have noticed since the building opened. New cameras throughout the stadium will display all video in high definition.

“I believe that this year’s show is going to be bigger and greater than they’ve ever seen,” said Gino Meyer, MECA director of production services.

The venue also installed more than 800 feet of ribbon board that will display the current pitcher and batter statistics.

“I don’t think you’ll be able to look one direction and not see what the score is and not know all the stats of the players,” Meyer said. “We really tried hard to push stats as much as we could.”

Meyer started working for MECA part-time as an audio board operator and has progressed to director of production services. He said the NCAA expects the venue to add more each year.

The production suite has been rearranged with additional seats to provide more camera angles. The number of replay operators has increased from one to two.

Meyer said the venue will use the current setup for the next couple of years but has additional upgrades planned.
